One game is in the books at this year's WCHA Final Five playoffs as the Denver Pioneers defeated the Michigan Tech Huskies 3-2 in overtime. It was exactly the game that was expected. The Huskies lead 2-1 late in the 3rd period when Luke Salazar tied it for Denver sending the game to overtime. The game winner was scored by Jason Zucker just 2:18 seconds into the extra time.
UMD played the Pioneers in Denver back in November and came home with 3 of the 4 points. The two teams finished the regular season separated by just one point. The Bulldogs and the Pioneers are both very talented teams that like to skate and play high tempo hockey. The game is the first game Friday afternoon at 2:07pm. It should be a fun one.
